1968 Bolens 1050

I found this on Craigslist, It was between an old Simplicity, a JD or this... I was impressed with the beefiness of the Bolens, heavy castings and very little sheet metal. It was painted green over bright white over original. There was no attempt made to mask decals or anything, just sprayed away... I pulled out my handy angle grinder, put a wire wheel on it and went to work. Took a good 16 hours to strip, repair and weld... Bought Valspar Tractor and Implement IH White, IH Red w/ Hardener, and Rustoleum Brown leather (I decided to use Rustoleum Hi Heat Brown instead). Spent a good 16 Hours with my gravity fed sprayer putting 3 coats on the tins. Mechanically, the tractor was sound, nothing locked up, Deck and Blower could be turned by hand. I paid 425 delivered 10 miles...
Put a farmall seat on it cuz its comfortable for my 250lb behind. Spent 8 hours with the wheels off on jacks with acetone and a wire brush, putty knife and flat screwdriver, removing 20 years of dried on grease and dirt. I am pleased with the end result...
