1973 MTD 990 purchased from original owner. Came with 42" mower deck, 42" front mount showthrower and a hard-top Original soft side cab. Wow! All I needed to do to get it running was replace the belts - front and mid-PTO - new spark plug and a new battery. Fired right up and runs great! Right now, I'm in process of making some changes. The brake disk has been removed and I'm replacing it with a 4" band brake, and moving the brake pedal to the left side. As usual, the spring on the forward-neutral-reverse control arm was broken. That, too, is getting replaced with seperate pedals for forward / reverse. The rest of the unit is getting cleaned up and repainted. I'll be posting pictures as I go.
