I finally got moved to New Hampshire, and got to see my brand-new-to-me 1961 Ride-A-Matic. Or, at least what I can see of it, since it's buried behind building materials while the house is under renovation.

Is the electrical system 12V, or 6V? It seems like a silly question, but I couldn't find the answer anywhere. I want to go ahead and put a trickle charger it, to be ready for Spring.

As Bob said, it should be a 12 volt system, but who knows what was installed over the years.

If the battery has 3 cells, it is a 6v battery. ....If it has 6 cells, it is a 12v battery.

Congrats on the new house and tractor! We'll expect some pictures when you get it uncovered.

A good note to remember with cells in batteries, 2 volts per cell typically. 3 cells= 6V Batt, 4= 8V, etc.
