Hello,

The 1476 got 5.70/5.00x8 on the original 8" rim, but will lets say Ht20 tire fit on that rim 18-8.50x8? Or is it not wide enought?

Thanks

I think the rims for the 1476 do not use the separate 4 lug hub like the later 1886's and I don't think those 4 lug hubs will fit on a 1476 to be able to use the larger tire.

Yeah, the early large frames don't have the bolt-on style front hubs although it's an easy upgrade if you want to do it. Just need a set of trailer hubs.

What is 5.70/5.00x8 i modern numbers? I dont find any cross chart
A 5.70-8 is 18"-18.5" depending on the brand/tire model. This tire is kind of cool, has a classic look to it in IMO. http://www.millertire.com/products/lawn-garden-tires/5-70-8/5-70-8-kenda-x-grip/

If you want to replicate the original saw tooth design, I'd go with one of these: https://www.etrailer.com/Tires-and-Wheels/Kenda/AM30153.html

Attached is a pic of the 4 lug bolt on style wheel set up off a 1455 (I believe) that I stripped down off a parts tractor I acquired. This is the first & only set of the "skinny" wheels that are the bolt on type, that I've ever seen. Was this an option? I also have a set of the taller 10" tall wider wheels that was offered as an option for the 1886 but those are non bolt on style. I guess what I'm offering information wise is there appeared to be options offered thru Bolens if one wanted/needed something different than what came as "standard". The complete front end shown in picture is for sale if anyone is interested (message me). I am interested for my own curiosity about this set up in the picture tho... factory option? Reason I ask is it sure looks to me to be a Bolens wheel, not something bought elsewhere & made to work. Tires are also in very good condition and appear to me to be originals. Any info anyone can offer is appreciated. Enlighten me please.

That's probably off of an HT18 or early model (2086) HT20.

Both of them had the option of having either 5.70/5.00x8 or 18x8.50-10 tires.

They also had the option of having 27x8.5-15 or 26x12-12 rear tires.
