I am tinkering with 1855 a little bit. How high should the steering coulum protrude above the dash? Do I want the steering wheel about flush or should it be up a couple of inches?

Thanks
David

I'm not at home to take a look, but I think you want it 2 to 3" above. I think around 2" is stock, but 3" is better in my opinion for a better feel/fit.

Just got in and I'll take a look at my 1655 tommoro, and let you know.I'll have to give you the measurements from the parts 1655 as the one I use has a power steering box etc: off a chev truck so the steering wheel sits a bit different. Larry

You didn't cut the shaft too short....just welded the bracket too low. If you leave the orbital valve down low, then hoses get awfully close to the pto shaft. When you raise things up, you have lots of room for your hose elbows.
That's not my pic. Not sure whose it it.

Made a little progress today. Started bending pipe from the valve to the cylinder. Defendant learning curve bending the tube as I wasted as much as was put on today. And i am still not happy with it! Think I will tee the pressure line and put a gauge on the dash. Once the plumbing is done, need to brainstorm a dash panel, might be stainless.

Back tracked some today, didn't like the way cylinder mounting looked cobbled together, cut off and started over. No pictures today, but it looks better and is adjustable. Waiting on a new tubing bender to arrive before more tube gets done.

Look what I found in a parts box!

Found these numbers on the top of the control vavles, do they mean anything?
