I am looking into getting a 3pt hooked up for my ht20
Just wondering what the difference are between it and the 1886

The HT style 3-pt requires the frame rail extension past the rear axle. That extension is where the pivot blocks for the cross shaft are installed. If a Large Frame tractor does not have the frame extensions, you have to use the lighter-duty 3-pt that was offered for the early Large Frames like the 1250, 1455, etc.

So basically, an 1886 3 pt would work on my ht20 as I don't have frame rail extensions?

I've got manuals for both the 1886 style p/n 18010 and the HT style p/n 18086. Here's a picture of my 1886 3pt hitch. It uses push rods whereas the HT style uses a single lift lever and is set up different. I don't think the 18010 would work on the HT series. Also a picture from the parts list of the 18086 so you can see the difference between the two.

I believe what LPBolens was saying is the HT-20 had longer frame rails in the back then the 1886 ,they stick out past the rearend more than on the 86's

The 1886s-05 and the HT18/1886s-06 also uses the same 3 point as on the HT20. Anything older then the 1886-04 uses the older 3 point.

I cannot tell you whether you could install the earlier 18010 3-pt on an HT20. Although I have both types of 3-pt hitches, it never occurred to me to try to.
