How do I adjust PTO on a 214? It won't disengage. Is it the threaded rod with the spring in the pic? Also I read where there is a brake shoe somewhere to stop PTO from turning? If I need to take PTO apart and clean will parts fly everywhere lol? I'm fairly mechanically sound.

Getting it off the shaft is probly the biggest issue on any pto. You can maybe replace some bearings or small parts, but if coils are bad or wires worn thru, pretty much toast I think. Just what is the problem? You sure it isn't ground or the wire to the unit broken and no power to it? Have you tried a diff source of power directly to your connector to check? If pressure needs adjust, some have ways to do that with feeler gauge and wrench on the three studs sticking out on them.

Yeah! I blew up pix and think you are correct. Manual engage. Maybe the surfaces are just rusted together then and need pulled apart and sanded or ?? a bit? OR, maybe that linkage isn't moving or not enough? Should be a manual out there to give adjustment procedure??

first make sure the PTO lever is in the off position (down)

push the little keeper down that holds the PTO bar in place.

you should be able to slide the PTO bar back, so that it releases from the front bolt with the pin in it,

some time you might have to pry it.

with the PTO bar loose move it out of the way.

to remove the PTO hub, there is a PTO brake pad under the tractor that is on the motor.

remove the PTO brake pad and the PTO hub should come off.

with the PTO hub off then you can clean it and grease it. Also clean the PTO that is still on the motor.

And remove any glazing on the PTO lining.
