I recently picked up a 1054-01, along with some attachments and a 600 parts machine. The 600 is not running (and won't be any time soon) but has a good transmission. The 1054 is running (with a Honda swapped into it) but has some stripped gears. I have the proper, original Wisconsin engine for the 1054 and my plan is to get it back to reasonably original condition. I hope to get the 600 up and running some day as well. In the meantime, I am wondering if the 600 transmission will bolt up to the 1054 frame and driveshaft, so I have a functional tractor as a backup to my other 1054. I am aware that I will lose the high/low feature doing this, but the high range gear is one of the ones that is stripped in the 1054-01 now and I can manage without it for now.

Thanks Brian. As that machine sits now it has low reverse and low third only, so having three forward gears would actually be moving up in the world. And this would only be temporary until I can get the 6 speed repaired. Is the cast iron coupling you mentioned, the one where the driveshaft meets the input shaft of the transmission?
