6hp briggs on lambert 666

The issue I have is what appears to be an unsuccessful attempt to swap a carb from another engine. So none of the linkage lines up. Would some one know of an original carburetor to be found for that briggs Era? I can't find a number.

I may be mistaken, but I don't think your problem is that the carburetor is incorrect. ...There is red paint on your carb, which means it may have been from a different engine, but I believe it is correct for your engine.

That throttle linkage attached to the shroud appears to be parts from a Tecumseh engine.

Any B&S Model, Type, and Code numbers were probably stamped into the shroud. ....Most likely to the left of the decal above the cobbled-up throttle linkage. ...Another possible location is at the top of the shroud above the 6hp decal. ....It appears the white paint on the engine was a repaint, so the numbers are probably under the paint.

Here is a Parts List for a 6hp B&S. ....Your engine numbers may be different, but this should give an indication of what the correct throttle linkage probably looked like.
