Well, I finally joined the Ridemaster Club today!

I blame this all on wilberj for pressuring me into buying this :poke: (Kidding)

(Actually Jerome was a big help in making this deal work out) :worshippy1:

The deal was made 2 weeks ago but I couldn't pick it up until yesterday. Getting the tractor loaded proved to be a bit of a challenge as it hasn't run in 15+ years and the drive system didn't feel like moving. Luckily the seller had a chain hoist where we lifted up the whole tractor and put it on the trailer.

I couldn't wait to get it home and see if I could start her as I never had the chance to operate one of these before. Things were looking pretty grim when I pulled the sparkplug and a whole bunch of rust came out. After removing the head things got even worse as both valves were rusted solid in the open position :( I used some penetrating oil and slowly was able to get the valves down and operating again, I cleaned the head and valves up and reinstalled the head. Opened up the magneto and found the points all oily and full of crud. Cleaned them up and was able to get a nice spark.

I sprayed a little carb cleaner in the spark plug hole and to my surprise she fired! I then went on to inspect the tank which was very clean inside and replaced the fuel bowl assembly which was full of crud and rust.

Turned on the gas and she fired right up :dancingbanana:

The Carb and throttle linkage needs some attention but the engine sounds and runs pretty good for still using the old gaskets and jets in the carb.

Theres a few areas that need attention but overall its a solid complete machine. The cover on the mag needs to be replaced as there's a big hole in it, the front starter sheave has a broken off chunk, the attachment lift lever needs some attention and I need to find some original Rims for the back wheels. Also the seat needs to be replaced.

I'm not sure but the seat looks to be replaced at some point? Its a lighter yellow than the orange yellow they used in these years. The yellow looks to be the shade they used in 57 & up.

I probably drove it around 30 minutes as I was having too much fun and didnt want to get off it :D

Attachments and video in the next post.

Now for the Attachments

On the tractor (Discs)

-Snow blade (May be beyond repair) :(

- Grader Blade

-1 Bottom Plow

-Sickle

- A few Misc. Parts

If anyone can get some pictures of their attachment lift lever so I can see whats missing/Broke on mine that would be great!

The tractor and attachments appear to have the Flat "Drab green" color which now narrows down the years of when the next color change occurred to 1954 or 1955

Congrats Doc!!!! What a great looking machine!!

I might have a spare Fairbanks Morse mag cover? I'm thinking it would be the same as on my Wisconsin AEN? I took the Fairbanks Morse off of it as the Impulse coupling was shot, but the cover was good.

That is a great haul. I'd love to have one of those machines. You can't beat an old Wisconsin, either. They were the best back then.

Chris, Fairbanks used pretty well near the same cover for all the 1 cylinder mags. It is a BX2430. I have one new in case you don't.

Thanks!

I should be able to fix the lift as I have the tab thats broken off, just need to re-weld :D

So is the lift handle really supposed to be so close to your leg when its up all the way or is mine bent. Do you have a pic of where the handle itself sits when its in the fully raised position?

I'll get you a photo of mine.

Got a better pic of the small parts?
