But i got an addiction... not to any drugs or anything. But something that burns more time and money. It is called Garden tractors. And I have some ways to tell if u got the bug. And be sure to add ur own.

1. every time u see a gt u get all excited
2. if ur wife said it is either her or the tractors and u pick the tractors
3. u start caring 100 dollar bills around with u. Just in case
4. u spend more than 2 hours a day on Gttalk
5. u will do anything for free as long as u can take ur tractor.

anything else guys

you buy a garden tractor even though your entire block is only a quarter acre and you can't even turn it around fully in the backyard without making a 3-point turn.

When you just freakin bought one literally 2 weeks ago, see another one and stop to ask if it is for sale. (By the way that is me right now), I caught the damn disease!

Guilty of number 3
same thing for me, number 3 !
I'm guilty of #1
I would say I never would be interested that! But here I am working on another one during the winter. I'm not one to buy them to flip or hoard for parts to resell. I only pick them up for my own use. I have a Case 646 with loader and rototiller, Case 644 loader and backhoe, Case 446 with snow blower and currently working on a Case 444 with hydra vac for mowing grass. These are all 70's era machines that they don't make them like this anymore!

I spend more time looking for tractors, and trying to justify them than I do working…
I think I may need an intervention? 🤪

Somebody asks "how many mowers do you actually have?" And you have to do a mental count before answering, then there's that other one you forgot.

Exactly. If I had to do a count right now, it would probably inaccurate. 🤪

how about when you buy a WH 416, want bigger so 2 weeks later sell it and get a 520 H another week goes buy and I drive 20 hrs for the snowblower and then add in 3 plows still find myself a week later at an auction and come home with the Bolens GT2000 with a loader.... so have a 520H with toys and a Bolen with the loader all within 6 weeks..

How about this, I wasn’t going to buy any more tractors, and I was going to downsize, and I posted on March 10, 2022 “ 18GT’s, but gonna cut the heard to 5, or 6.”
Since the middle of March, I bought: 2 Power king tractors, Bolens HT23 w/ loader, 2 Wheel Horse 520Lxi’s, Bolens G152 with loader, on 7/3, Bolens G152 with 2 belly mowers, snowblower, and plow blade on 7/10, and considering buying 2 more Bolens diesels, a H1502, and a H1704 in a package deal, because I need to drive the 800 mile round trip to pick up the NOS wheel horse XI cab I bought anyway, so might as well make it a more productive trip. I’ve also bought 2 loaders , a steel cab, and about a half dozen other implements since my March 10th statement.
So, I’m not sure if that is an addIction, or just plain insanity… all I can say is good thing I don’t have to try to justify any of it with a wife or significant other.

🙇‍♀️ Bow I respect to the insanity. Question I’m looking at a 48” deck off a G152 and trying to find out if it would fit my GT2000. Would you happen to know. Thanks

I don’t know, but I will get you a pic of the model number tag on the 48” deck that came with the G152, for compatibility with the GT2000.
I have 2 48” decks that came with one of my G152’s, only one has a tag. Only difference between the decks is one has front anti scalp rollers, and one doesn’t. Tag is off the deck without the front rollers.

So is this addiction to all tractors? I have my 520H which I picked up and then drove everywhere to get a blower, plow(s), grader blade and soon to pickup a like new full enclosure cab. Saw the compact loaders for this size tractor so ran out and found my GT2000 loader at the auction. Got that and not I want a Bolen with a backhoe.. Maybe s 20H ???

I try to stick to tractors that were available in my local area. We had a Ariens, Bolens, Toro dealer in the town I grew up in, I actually worked there in the early through mid 80’s. There was a Wheel Horse dealer in the next town to the east, where I live now. A IH / Cub Cadet dealer next town to the west, and a Simplicity dealer next town to the north, just over the NH boarder, and a Case dealer a couple towns to the north east that I still buy stuff from.
I became good friends with all these people, not just in the power equipment sense, but personally, and spent time with their families. Many have now passed on, but I’m still friends with their kids, and their families.
So long story a little shorter, I stick to the tractors that I thought were the best of what was available in my immediate area. With that being said, Ive found some nice examples very local, but have traveled quite the distance to gather what I have. The only tractors I have that were not available in my couple town radius were my Economy PK 1614, and my fiberglass Power King 2518. Those I just thought were neat, and rare in my area.
Anyway, I have Ariens GT’s, Bolens HT23, and now a couple Iseki Bolens, Case 448’s, Cub Cadet, Simplicity Powermax’s, and Sunstars, and to round out my GT collection, Wheel Horse D160, 520H’s, and 5xi’s.
I also have a IH 460 utility, a AC C, and my everyday use tractor is a LS XJ2025H with cab, loader, and backhoe. Plus I have flail mower, bush hog, chipper, skidding winch, post hole digger, grapple rake, forks, back blade, clamp on snow plow, fence line mower, 3 point splitter, and weight box with tool holder for it.
The LS is my go to tractor. The other tractors are a hobby. I do use them, and my kids use them. I have a good selection of the implements that go with the various GT,s, and my kids share whatever they need to do certain jobs… Lastly, I guess I’m just fortunate enough to be able to preserve some of what I thought were the best locally available Garden Tractors of my 40 years in this hobby.

Just something wholesome about GTs. Brings that good feeling of doing some work and having a great tool to help get the job done.
