One of my friends offered up a 4 cyl air cooled diesel engine off of a military tanker. The motor ran a big water pump that is on the tank/trailer of the semi.

I was wondering if this might be something to power a frankin tractor GT?? Any thoughts?

Yeah, Deutz, and once Deutz-Allis when joined with Allis-Chalmers. All those were big tho, not sure on little engines? OR, military stuff just seems to have specs to follow, and Anyone can make stuff for them, even tho it is not the line they produce or such, so could be made by anyone who passed the tests and could produce enough of them. That makes it hard for parts sometimes.

Any motor that passed military trials is worth having some Wisconsin motors that I have seen come off military equipment have special shielding and are much stronger than their civilian counterparts. Some even have better pistons, rings and cranks also better valves and tighter tolerances. I'll take it if you don't want it! Should make a great project have fun!

Did it come off of a Army fuel tanker? If so it's probably a Onan, they were used on the 5000 gal fuel trailers.
Yes, that is what it is on right now. I am waiting for them to remove the motor and all the controls, guages, ect that go with it.

No pics yet Kenny, it was dark and late at night after a wild hog hunt.
