I picked this Bolens up a couple years ago. I believe it is a 57. As you can see it is in rough shape, but at least it exists.
I did replace the original K90 with a K91, but only temporarily until I rebuild the K90.
I do have the air cleaner assembly, but I'm missing the "tube" that goes from the carb to the air cleaner. If anybody has one to part with please let me know.
I would also like to get the foot pegs for it too, but I could make them if someone will post a good pic of how they attach.
So it ain't pretty, but I finally got to drive it!

Looks like a 56 to me with the ID tag serial and modal numbers I can tell the year for you.

That makes it a 1956.

Thanks for confirming!
Will you share with me what it was that made you initially believe it was a 56 before you saw the numbers?
The hole in the hood for the air cleaner.

Bolens made the 20HD02 like yours also in 1957 as the 20HD03 and in 1958 as the 200 but both the 57 and 58 version is very hard to find with only 2 57s know and no 58 known of. 99% of the time if it has the air cleaner hole in the hood its a 56. The 21HD01 made in 1957 did not have the hole in the hood for the air cleaner.

Quick question...
What hole should the linkage from the governor be in on the throttle shaft?
I have it in the middle one and it seems fine, but I'm sure each of the 3 holes serves its own purpose.
