Wondering if someone could give direction on how to fix this leak before it starts really dripping. This is the governor lever on my 1256. Seems to leak enough to keep it oily in that area. Any ideas on parts and where to find them?

Correct way is to take the side off the engine and install a new gasket.

Quick fix that might work is to clean the area real good with carb. cleaner or paint thinner, rough up the casting some, clean again and smear some silicone on the seam.

Good Luck!

Its likely your governor shaft seal is leaking, or possibly your side cover gasket which generally does not leak much on these, very simple to install, just remember to set the governor shaft back to factory specks when reinstalling

I stock the seals if needed as well as new Governor levers

Sweet I'll be ordering that. Thanks for your help. Will you be able to find a suitable replacement when your stock runs out?
