FINALLY...got enough snow to unlimber the 1256 :madhop:

Was NOT without problems though.

First off, throttle and choke cables were frozen, so had to get them free.

Then, found out the the snowcaster was frozen to the ground. :wallbanging::wallbanging::wallbanging:

Decided the heck with it, I'll just use the 1886 and FEL. Nope. Throttle and choke are frozen even harder than the 1256 was, so back to the 1256.

Got my floor jack under the snowcaster and got it free from the ice it was embedded it, and was off the the races. :D

I soon found out that while the snowcaster throws snow pretty good...phone books don't go through them too well. :blush2::blush2::blush2:

So, back to the garage and managed, with the aid of a crowbar and a few 4 letter words, to get the book out of the auger, and went back at it.

Did my SHORT drive and front sidewalk. Did the driveways of both of my neighbors while I was at it. All in all, was a lot of fun, and a learning experience.

I was impressed at how far that rascal will throw snow.

Sorry to hear about your freeze Problems LOL

Glad to hear you got to get some seat time though :D

These single stage blowers will eat anything that gets in the way... a couple years ago my old Yellow snow caster I had on my 1050 decided to eat a screw driver :wallbanging:

Glad to hear that you also got some seat time clearing snow. I posted in what did you do with your tractor about our snow removal. Sorry that you had some problems getting started, but sounds like you had a nice outcome and I'm sure your neighbors appreciated your help.

Good to hear you got things going. Winter always presents problems of one sort or another. Sorry to hear about the phone book destruction! I had a " rug verses snow blower" incident one time. It was one of those thick braided ones... took me an hour of untangling before I was running again!
