Wow, that'll be pretty powerful, when completed, my 1053 has a 2 cylinder Citroen 2cv engine in it, 29 hp! It's a powerhouse, Had it pulling a digger before,Good luck!I'm working on getting an 18hp Briggs and Stratton V twin running. Does anyone have any experience putting on of these in a 1050?
chieffan is right you can get a lot done with a stock TRA-10D on a 1050 its all in using the gearing properly, there is plenty of power for all the attachments and towing things. How a tractor performs has a lot more to do with the gearing than it does hp under the hood. If hp is not used sensibly it will tear things up.
Thanks WrenchinOnIt for posting that link from Husky, I was just visiting Husky on Saturday and had a chance to see his Briggs twin conversion on the H14. Beautiful work, it looks factory, nice detailing, but according to Husky it took months and months to do the conversion and restore.Try this :
Sorry for confusion
Looks like it fits pretty good, did you have to modify anything besides the gas tank and battery to get it to fit? Here are a few of the 16 I put in a 1253. Motor bolts line up with original holes and Original pulley works as well. You will have to get creative with battery or gas tank as there is only room for one under the hood.
