Can someone help me out?

My hydraulic float valve will go up into lift, neutral, and down, but will not go into float position. Is there supposed to be a detent for float position?

Thanks

Actually, I just went out there and pushed a little harder and it popped into the detent. Should it be really tight? My machine has been parked for five years, so mabye once the oil is going through it all again it will function a little better - OR, is there some adjustment in the detent like there is on the relief valve under the seat?

I have two of the valves on my 1250, both "pop" into the float position with what might be described as a forceful tug.

I unbolted the upper panel behind the dash and slid it out of the way far enough to get at the valve. I then removed the slotted screw, spring, and ball bearing, clean it all up, a bit of antiseize, and reinstalled. I also used rust inhibiting spray on everything and she works butterfully now. Cheers
