Hi,

I bought a 1256 and needless to say two days later it won't start. I checked for spark, none. The this engine has the overnight solutions for the Wisconsin engine. I have 12 volts going to the positive terminal on the coil and also the wiring going to the flywheel. What could be wrong. Also, what wires from the original ignition system are needed? The original installer just left them hanging everywhere.

Thanks,

Roger

Welcome to GTT. You can download the manuals for the tractor and the engine from our Manuals Section. Pics will help us see the problems. Good Luck, Rick

I checked the coil and had 12 volts going into the positive from the ignition switch. I have 4.3 ohms across the small terminals and 7.9k ohms across the major terminal going to the spark plug. I put a new spark lead on and still no spark. Maybe the module behind the flywheel went bad?
