Trying to find a deck, I have a garden way 14023 on it currently, needs spindles housings bearings. Priced up kits to rebuild, looking at $500 for that and I'd still have a pitted/rotted deck.
Bolens 18300 I know is the one to have, but are there any other decks that fit? Every deck I find is rotted, spindle housings blown apart, etc. I saw a Bolens with a cub cadet deck mounted on Craigslist and this has got my brain thinking. what other model decks fit and what tractors did they come on? Finding parts is getting harder and harder for this tractor. I don't want to break down and get a new unit just yet. My father bought this new, now I have it, it's had motor swaps, currently has a 18hp Briggs, a 1900 tranny hi/lo range tranny, this thing is a beast, and would cost 13000 to replace with a x700 Deere.
Thanks guys.

Do you know by chance what model tractors the 14032 and 14031 decks come on? Maybe I can expand my searching to a certain troybilt
I don't know which tractors the decks would have come on - my understanding is that the tractor was sold separately and the deck would be a separate accessory the same as a tiller, blade, snow caster etc. Some tractors may have been sold with a certain model # deck attached as a "package deal" but they would have been ordered separately and the dealer would have installed the deck to create the package that a customer wanted or a few may have been set up as demo machines for customers to try. Having worked at a John Deere garden place back in the 70's any demo machines usually sold quickly as once a customer tried it and decided they wanted one the dealer would usually just leave that unit - knock a few dollars off the price if it had been used much - and offer it as a full warranty period machine from the date of purchase.
