In a batch of parts I was digging through a while back, I found three Bolens condensers, part number 1702250.

I'm figuring they fit a name brand engine that Bolens used.

Does anyone have a cross reference for these?

Is the date Readable on the packaging?

On those paper parts bags they always stamped the year on it which may help narrow down available machines at the time.

Almost looks just like the standard condensors used on the K160 &161 .......

There were 3 different condensers of that style.

Kohler # 280082, Kohler # 230980, and a third one which I am trying to find the part number of.

That is the first time I have seen an engine part with a Bolens part number. ....Perhaps it was used on a Bolens chainsaw, or one of their own engines.

I never seen an engine part labeled and packed by Bolens either.

I think they may have put their part numbers on some of the snowmobile stuff and other recreational equipment as I seen piston ring sets with a Bolens sticker on them.

Wow, that was great sleuthing, Dr. Bolens. That's why you've earned that "PHD" moniker for certain. I knew someone here would know.

There was no date stamped on the package. I had that on my to-do list of things to check the next time I was in the shop, but I never got around to it.

The engine you are showing is a two cycle, right? That magneto also looks remarkably like a Scintilla.

I have three of these condensers sitting here needing a good home. Does anyone need them?

Thanks for helping me out, all of you Bolens professionals.

I've only seen 2-3 of these engines come up for sale over the years so you may be holding on to them for a while :smilewink:
