Last December while visiting my family for christmas, I finally was allowed to bring home my grandparents Bolens 750 that they used to mow their grass for about 20 years before they replaced it and gave it to my uncle. My uncle then had it sitting outside for another 15 years. Then after years of bugging my dad to fix it up he broke down and let me bring it home. We then began to tear it down but we soon realized that the transmission had no oil in it and the frame was badly pitted and there were too many things wrong with it for us to fix. We found an 850 on craigslist that was running and had ag tires for cheap. We bought the 850 so we could put the two together. We had the 750's engine looked over and I painted the frame and transmission of the 850. I painted the tins and put it all back together. It runs great and I think the restoration turned out well for a 14 year old's rattle can job. We also got a sleeve hitch and a Brinly dump-cart for the back of it. My main questions are when were they made, how many were made, and are there many out there? I don't know much about Bolens and this one is the oddball in the Deere herd. Thanks for any help!

Welcome to GTT

You did an outstanding job bringing that Bolens back to life. :bounce:

The 750 was made only in 1967, To the best of my knowledge Bolens never released any production information of how many of each model were produced.

If you have any more questions feel free to ask, there are alot of Bolens nuts on here that should be able to help you out :D

Wow what a resto, you did a great job on that one. What brand of paint did you use and what codes for the browns and whites? By the way welcome to GTT and yours stands out amoung the sea of green in the line up.

Thanks guys your compliments are very much appreciated and thank you for the information Bolens 1000! Redcarkids I used Valspar gloss 65004 almond for the tins, Valspar gloss 65015 berry for the wheels, and Rust- Oleum satin all-surface paint 247570 satin expresso brown for the frame, it comes in a can with a weird top on it and it costs a little bit more but I found that it matched closest to original compared to other colors I tried. I got all the cans from Lowes. Once again thanks for all of your kind compliments and it is a great welcome here!!
