Wow the way the the wind was blowing only a die hard Bolens guy would be out in it cause he was dying to try it out, cool old school unit
My wife asked 'aren't you going to plow the drive way?' I told her that's why everything in the driveway is 4wd push the button and go or... stay home like they are saying we should, maybe 4" here but really blowing it around
It done as good a job or better than most new ones would. Sounds like a solid axle drive unit. My BCS is that way but they will really get the traction. Wheels don't turn fast enough to slip, they just bite.
I never got the chance to use one of these in the snow. You are correct to say they are quite the bear to move around on the pavement. Looks like a lot of fun. Glad to see you were able to give it a proper workout. I've given up. We haven't gotten anything over 2" all winter. I'm over it and ready for spring.
Broke the cable last time blowing so went to get a NOS one but was kind of surprised they didnt include a clip for both ends of the cable, ended up making a new "Service kit" for these wires that has two ends for the handle end and linkage end.
Nice job on that and by the way that machine is really clean for it's age. My two old 1979 Toro 11HP has the clutch levers to dis-engage either side for turning, good thing as they weigh 305 pounds a piece. I bet yours is a bear to turn.
