Hi,

I am trying to replace the drive belts on my 1962 Ride-a-matic and the replacement belts I bought appear to be too short. The versa-matic is not working as it should and I still have drive in the park position.

Looking at the parts manual the belts are stated as 29" and 35" but flagged as SPECIAL. I have no idea if the SPECIAL bit refers to the size or the material used.

The belts I bought were 29" 5L290K and 35" 5L350K.

Can anyone offer any advice on replacing belts for a ROM or recommend belts to use?

I'm surprised by the 5L width of the belts. The Bolens guys will help you in awhile. Good Luck, Rick

I stock all belts for the ride-a-matic series but shipping to the UK may be pricey?

What model do you have? Almost all models used different length belts.

My ride-a-matic is a 235-01. I just had a quick look at the one original belt I have and the pitch of the belt looks different to the belts I bought.

Prices for parts are expensive in the UK and even with shipping they are often about the same price. My Land Rover is half the price in the US compared with the UK even though they are made in the UK.
