I picked up another Bolens walk behind this weekend and was trying to find a model # on the ID tag but there is only a spot for the serial #. Is the model # part of the serial # or is it stamped on the frame somewhere else? I'll try to post some pics tomorrow.

Finally got some pics on here. Not the best with computers. Here's what I got. The one outside picked up this weekend and the one inside I got last summer. Wondering if someone could help out IDing the model #s for this things. Thanks 043.JPG 044.JPG 045.JPG 046.JPG 040.JPG 041.JPG 042.JPG 047.JPG

It appears you have a Bolens Model 12A Power-Ho tractor which was made in 1942-1948 and was equipped with a 1.5hp B&S model NPR6 engine. ....In 1947 & 1948, the tractor had a list price of $165.00.

A manual for your tractor is posted here: http://gardentractortalk.com/forums/files/file/1934-power-ho-model-12a/

The Cultivator attachment is a Model 12A200, and info is posted here: http://gardentractortalk.com/forums/files/file/2447-bolens-cultivator-for-model-12a-tractor-only/

The Huski Unisickle attachment appears to be a Model 12A250 or 12A251. ...I have paperwork for the 12A251, if it is neeeded.

That's an old Montgomery Wards rider I got years ago its what got me started on the old garden tractors. If I remember right it has a Clinton engine on it with 2 speed trans (foward and reverse). The Bolens was in the best shape for the money that I found at the swap meet. Some guys want to much for something missing half the engine, rotten tires, and a bent up broken frame.

Looking more closely at the pics, it looks like the inside tractor has a Tecumseh carburetor and starter installed on a B&S engine.

Thanks for the links Bruce they helped me out. The reason I haven't worked on that one is because of it not having the origonal carb, but I found a briggs model N last weekend to try and get it going again. Also is it just the year differance between the two tractors for one having an aluminum gear reduction case verses a casted into the block one?

The aluminum gear reduction is definitely later than the cast-iron gear reduction.

I can't say for sure that the model numbers of the engines were the same, but I suspect they may be.

I am in need of the proper belt for the Unisickle attachment and the pats manual if you have it. I used one of your previous manuals for my 12A restoration. It runs beautifully.
