I'm paying for my stuff I got by rebuilding this engine for Andy also it a good learning experience. It going on one of his show tractors.

I got the head pulled and the piston pulled out today. Got to take it and get the cylinder mic to see what it need to be bored to.

After I get the quote I will finish stripping it down.

Just for reference:

I think the guy I use would charge retail $75 or $80 to do that bore. That includes fitting to the piston and honing so it's ready to assemble.

Didn't get to the machine shop today but did get the driveshaft adapter off and the mag.

$50 here to measure and bore out the cylinder.

Valves guides are good.

I got the flywheel pulled off but the cover under the flywheel isn't coming off. I think someone used rtv on cover.

I got the mag side cover off and tomorrow I got to finish the teardown and take it to the machine shop soon has the parts get here. I'm also going to buy new head bolts and oil pan bolts tomorrow.

I bought all the heads bolts , oil pan bolts , lock washers , flat washers for both engines for $13.10 that included screw extractor and $2 donation to FFA . That why I like TSC.

Set screws are being a pain going to drill them out and re tap.

Machine shop tomorrow and the gasket set should be in. Probably be the weekend before I finish.

The block is at the machine shop. They measured it and said the bore is so worn down they can hone to spec instead of boring.

After getting the timing right we got the piston and rod back in but the rod at to much play. We mic everything before the install I don't if we misread the micrometer or the rod is worn.

It started but got a oil leak I will go to ace hardware to see if they have the right size.

Still leaks even with new bolts so Andy told me to use a little bit of rtv.
