Changing crankshaft pullt to a smaller diameter to lower the ground speed

I have a Craftsman tow behind tiller that I plan to tow behind my Speedex. Don't worry, I am going to paint it red. My concern is will the 1631 be slow enough in 1st gear to prevent me from having to get on and off the clutch constantly. If I need to change to a smaller crankshaft pulley will the brake have enough travel for the brake to work? I am thinking that I can space the rubber snubber closer to the smaller pulley. This trctor is 3,000 miles from me and it may be be several months before I go home to where the tractor is. I am trying to round up what I need before I get home. I have tried to find ground speed numbers on this tractor to no avail. I have seen older models listed but none on the 1630 series. older tractors show 1 mph for 1st gear. and that sounds low enough but I am not sure.
Thanks Richard

Believe it or not I just asked my question in a shorter version on the browser that I use and it came back transmission pully which actually makes sense. I should have thought about that longer. That being said I will start with the standard engine pully diameter. So changing the pulley will not be an issue. and I can start with the same length belt.

I have a 1631 and it moves pretty slowly in 1st gear. Since the tractor is not powering the tiller there is no reason you need to throttle it up when using the tiller.

I used to have a craftsman 3 pt. tiller I used with my Speedex. Tractor speed was never a problem

Thats good to here. Up here in the frozen North there is nothing to do except over think things. We have already had a Frost that killed all of our cucumber plants. I can't even work here because I don't have a green card. I am on an Extended stay Visa. They probably wouldn't give me a green card because of my age and never paying taxes here. Then I would be elgable for health care and all the other government freebies. Actually I think they are smart and I don't blame them at all.
