This is what I got from my brother for Christmas. I think it is awesome. The dump mechanism is very interesting. It works backwards from the normal. It dumps backwards rather than tilt for ward. Ill take better pictures of it tomorrow. Its in very nice mechanical shape. Its gona get a fresh coat of paint and new decals this winter hopefully. Now I have a question for all you bolens guys. What era of tractors was this in? It looks like the wheels were red. The actual collecting unit looks like someone made it out of galvanized sheet metal, to replace the canvas. I actually like that very much. It is nicer than old canvas that rips easy. I really am excited. Maybe if we don't have snow tomorrow ill hook it up and take a few action shots. What a nice brother I have. (its for putting up with all his crap hahahaha)

Great Find

This makes only the 2nd one I have seen!

This would be right around 1971-1974

There should be a small sticker near the front with the model numbers but it could be missing, measure the width of the sweepers and may be able to ID it that way. I should have a manual for this also.

We all need brothers like that. Very nice Bolens lawn sweeper. I would definitely like to see some action shots, especially with how it dumps.

So that would be the all white tractors with red rims?

Yeah would have been used with models like the 1054,1256,1257,1556

Upon taking a closer look your's appears to be a homemade dump box made of sheet metal, originals were cloth.
I was hoping you were gona say it was those models. (that just happens to be one of my favorite bolens color combinations) I don't have one yet, but I might start looking for one.

I kinda thought that it might be homemade but wasn't sure. It doesn't make a huge difference to me, I just think its awesome that its all there.

Is that the one that showed up on the Ft Wayne CraigsList from time to time?

If so, I came close to buying it. However, that was just at the time we found out that the HMS Rainmaker needed all of the tires replaced.

I think these were made by a company called LAMBERTS.

Oh, these also dump behind the sweeper.

Made a 600 mile round trip to Huntsville Alabama on Friday to pick up a couple of Wheel Horse goodies.

I know the routine, so here are the photos!
