So I got this Craftsman 3 ton floor jack back at Christmas time and had some trouble getting it to work properly. It would go up but can't hold any weight. I went through the air purge procedure several times but to no avail. I'm wondering if the thing came with very little fluid in it. I assume fluid would be added in the same hole where you purge the air? Anyone have one of these that may have had this experience?

Wow, not exactly glowing reviews. It seems as though it would be a good heavy duty jack. What a shame. Well, we'll see what it brings in scrap I guess. I doubt they would do anything about it now.

I think that is the case. I have an old 2 ton Craftsman jack that still works fine. Gotta be 25 years old anyway. Figured an upgrade to 3 ton would be good. Live and learn.

Never had a problem with mine. Mine is 15yrs old. I wouldn't trust any floor jack to hold weight without jackstands or blocks before going under a vehicle
Neither would I but this thing doesn't hold up long enough to get a jack stand under the car. I noticed something last night though when I was messing with the jack. I got it to the point where I could jack it up, stand on it and it would hold as long as I didn't touch the handle. once I did touch the handle, it went right down. mind you, I didn't twist the handle, it just moved a little because they are now exactly tight in there. Just moved it a slight bit trying to keep my balance (glad there were no video cameras around). It's all very strange.

Thanks you saved me 119 dollars. I was going to buy the kit, with the jack stands, and 3 ton jack for 119.00. I've been in the market for a new one since my smaller one doesn't like lifting my truck.
Yeah, mine came with the jack stands and the creeper. If only the jack worked as well as the other items.
