I was looking for a mowing deck and a few parts for my 1220s so I went back to the guy I bought my first one from because he had a "600? Bolens" on his craigslist ad. It was complete with a mowing deck, weight box, and the bracket I needed for my Sno-Caster.

I arrived and found that the starter/generator had been removed! I asked what happened to it and he said "I guess someone must have taken it." :mad2: Yeah, right. It was there a few weeks ago and the connectors were clean, like it had just been removed. If I hadn't driven nearly an hour I would have turned around and left.

It had the parts I needed, they were in good working condition, so I took it.

I don't plan on keeping the tractor, but I had planned on getting it running so I could sell it. Now I have to borrow a starter generator from my BIL to get it running and make sure it's not another smoker.

If you need a starter generator for a Wisconsin I have one that has just been rebuilt. Shipping is going to be a problem tho as those things are heavy. PM me if interested.

Wow that is really too bad. People today can be pretty selfish. I hope that you get it up and running and can make it worth your while best of luck.

Sorry you had a bad experience, seems to be happening more and more each day.

You know you can pull start the 600 right?
I forgot to mention that the tractor isn't a 600, it's a 1000 with a Wisconsin TRA12D1 engine. I guess the original was swapped out. I may give it a couple pulls today but a 12 is a bit harder to pull than an 8. I might not have time though, we have 3"-6" of snow on the way. I may finally be able to test my Sno-Caster!

Ism thinking that CL brings out the worst in some people.
I recently responded politely to a ad, jerk could barely bring himself to acknowledge my response, then stopped all communication when I counter offered.

It's still on CL, may offer him less next month.

Yes, That tractor is mostly settled. I pulled the bracket off this tractor so I can now adjust the chute from the seat. I guess I could call that one a 1620 since the Tecumseh 12HP is no longer viable.

The other 1220 still needs the electrical connections to be finished and the weight box and plow mounted.

CL is no different than the rest of the world. Same people both places.
