I bought a core transmission from a friend of mine for the MF10 diesel. it was donated by a John Deere 110, and yes they are the same once the pulleys are off. I decided to check out the detents before I did anything with it. While I was manhandling it before teardown some water ran out, so I took it outside and dumped it. Upon teardown it became apparent this may be a parts unit. The ends of a shaft or 2 rusted into the bearings enough to ruin the bearings and rough up the shafts some. The rest of the parts would clean up in the wire wheel.

If someone had some hard parts laying around I'd probably just buy a few bearings and put it back together with new axles seals, limited slip, and new detents.

What sort of hard parts do you need? I've a few Peerless numbers that came with Tecumseh parts I have: I said a few!! One shaft, a bearing, a few seals, o rings, a gear or two.

I have all the parts from a '66 110 peerless on the shelf. You can HAVE everything but the case if you want them. There are two busted gears but all other stuff looks great.

Just out of curousity... there is one little tag on the side of the case half marked A17582. I believe this is the ID tag as the manual shows, but I planned on seeing a 23XX number or is there some decoding involved?
