The factory sold an adapter that bolted to the lift draw bar on the Power Kings that allowed you to hitch up 3 pt attachments it wasn't the handiest thing but it did work. I thought I'd build one just for the fun of it, got the material cut holes drilled that lift arms bent and the ball joint welded on just have to weld the lift arms to the adapter plate.

If you ran two parallel angle irons up from the tractor side of the top link about a foot and attached the top link there, would it not shorten the length of the top link and reduce the stress? Of course you would have to brace the extension crosswise and forward.

Don Hayes
Maybe, I've thought that the lower attachment for the top link should/could be higher, for now I'm just reproducing the factory made adapter, its not really handy as to use it you have to remove one of the lower lift pins as there is no way to spread the lower arms

I have also thought about a way to make at least one of the lower lift arms moveable but have not come up with a workable idea, also this is not a true 3 pt hitch thing in that the qattachment does not lift parallel but at an angle like a sleeve hitch

Hi Gary - could you maybe do something like this? Not sure if there is a flat bar all the way across underneath the hitch so might have to add something there. Just an idea.

Hi Stew that's a great idea I was thinking of a pivot / hinge but a bit different I like your idea, I don't see any reason that wouldn't work Thanks for posting it

Thanks for the kind words. Could set the other side up the same way so they both swivel as that might be easier for some attachments. Could make the pin part of the bar underneath and then have the R clip up top for easier access - just a couple of thoughts that came to me during my "rest" cycle.

Gary, have you got copies of the 3-point parts manuals? I am not sure what you exixting lift back looks like, but I don't see a whole lot to the 3-point that it couldn't be fabricated fairly easily. Let me know if you want me to upload copies of those manuals.

Thanks Kenny yes I have several copy's of the thumb drive and some original manuals. the factory introduced the 3PT hitch on the late 1974 models prior to that the tractors had what was called a lift draw bar an this adapter was designed to let guys with the older tractors use 3 pt attachments. They had attachments that hitched to the lift draw bar that worked good they were simple easy to hitch up here's a couple of pictures of the lift draw bar and the lift lever
