OK now with the questions when using the snow caster i noticed the chain is slacked how do i go about adjusting this? Second while on the other site i noticed the JD guys do what called the power mode to there casters with 2 peaces of rubber on the discharge action to eliminate and air gaps could be do this as well?

I have a square back i have been searching for a round back for about 8 months and haven't seen one that was not coming with a tractor and with a 1050, 800 and G10 i don't have room for another. 4th gear high seemed to be the sweet spot and it did alright. It's just the wet end of the drive that kills me since it's like 60 feet and i am on a corner so they kill me.

You can slide the gearbox and shaft the sprocket is attached to by loosing up the bolts and pulling towards the tractor.

The old square backs don't throw the snow as far as the newer units but still do a decent job.

I agree that is a fun way to get out of shoveling. As for filling in the gap, as soon as I get a couple more inches, I will let you know if it made a difference to my Sears, but several guys with different brands have done it here and all say it helped.

The combination of the red wheel weights and the nice red seat make that one nice looking 1050. Gotta love those little 1050 workhorses.
