stumbled onto this yesterday in a fellow collectors bone pile. I think he knows what he has and its not headed for China so I left it where it is. Tractor is 1054. Enjoy!

What implement would that have been used for?

Is it "factory" or is it "home brewed"?

Not that "up" on Bolens but I figured it was a factory PTO. From other brand brochures I've seen it could have been used to power an elevator so you didn't have to tie up a full sized farm tractor.

OK, that makes sense. Especially since on a closer look, I can see that there is a reduction from the input to the output, which most likely drops the Bolens 2000 RPM PTO speed down to the "standard" 540 PTO speed of most farm equipment.

Wow, that's a cool piece. Couldn't do much with it cause of hp requirements but for a few things it would be fun to mess around with.

Well, depending on which tractor you have it mounted on, it would probably do more than you might think.

I'm betting that it would run a grain auger, possibly a feed grinder, corn sheller, etc.

The biggest advantage of that is that it would let a farmer use his full sized tractor for other things rather than having it tied up on low power implements.

I wouldn't mind having that puppy just for playing around with it at shows :D

That would be a dandy toy to have. Bet you could make all kinds of things to attach to it.
Old Buzzard, I check out every thread you post to just to see your avatar. I like that!

Very interesting stuff. I'd given thought to putting front & rear PTOs on the Panzer but what would I use em for??? Bragging rights, I guess ;)

Yep, that is what I meant, low power applications. For some reason my mind was blank on low power applications when I posted that. All I could think of was a hay elevator. The more I think about it the more I want one.
