I talked to the owner on the phone.

It's an 1886-01.

The loader is home made, the lift cylinder is single acting, so there is no down pressure on the bucket.

The belt driving the loader's hydro pump slips.

There is no weight box or anything to add weight on the rear, which you would need if lifting anything 1/2 way heavy.

So, it doesn't seem to be as good a deal as first glance indicates.

If he hasn't sold it, I'm going to take a look at it on Friday.

If I had the ready cash, I would be posting this...I'd have already been on the road.

Got a call from the owner of the bolens in Bluffton. He said someone flag his listing and it got taken off craigslist. it is still for sale and he was going to relist it again. I went in to see the mower today. its a model 1055. early to mid 70's. It started right up and he drove it around the shop. Things I seen wrong with the mower were front wheels did not match, The back fenders were missing taillights, and there was damage to the front of the right fender. Headlights were not hooked up. very nice hood and grill area. He said he put a new coil in it. The fellow worked on mowers and I felt like he may have put a couple together to make a running machine. He did come down to $275.00 without the deck or battery. $300.00 with battery. Ii was a tubeframe mower. and I would say very restorable. Engine area was clean and looked good.
