I want to buy a manual fuel transfer pump but when I look at them on the Internet they don't tell me enough to make an informed decision. Here's two I'm interested in:

I use regular 5-gallon plastic fuel containers -- not a drum. Gas only. I'm very unhappy with cheap siphons. I see quite a few on the Internet that are a step up from the cheap siphons but I don't want to get burned by crap that just costs a few bucks more.

If you use a gas transfer pump like what I'm looking at and you have a recommendation I'd like to hear about it. Thanks.

There is a gas boy lever pump for $99 bucks on epay right now, this will do what you are looking to do. We use these in the military and they are crude but effective and will not let you down. I have pumped more fuel through one of these than I would like to admit.

No experience with a pump like those shown in the video but I have a buddy that has a "Super Jiggler" siphon hose.

It works amazingly well. Cheap and simple. Under $20.

I'm guessing with only 5 gallon containers this would be OK for you. ???

I used the manual bellows type from a 200 gal barrel. Might be a little big for 5 gal cans though. I use 5 gal. plastic gas containers now and simply transfer one container at a time into 2 - 2 gal plastic gas containers, Leaves a gallon for the small tanks like a trim mower, etc.

When I was constantly transferring fuel I had fastened a 12V fuel pump to board and carted it here and there with a battery. Usually I was siphoning gas out of fuel tanks that were to be replaced. Now I would power it with my little lightweight battery booster.

What about a gravity fed system rather than messing with a pump for a 5 gallon can? Here is what I did in my garage. You could do something on a 5-10 gallon scale instead.

When needed I just use my "okie" credit card(no offense, Kenny) made from a piece of 3/8" air hose.
