Decided to change oil and work on chute rod issues on the 1256. Took the side panel off to aid in oil change. Dad repainted it as it got stained. I think a carb kit will be needed soon. The carb has been acting off of late. I tried to tune low end and every once in a while it acts like it gets a big drip of gas and engine chokes for a second, then fine. I swapped the fuel line out and routed temporay outside of tins for now. Chute issue was solved when I finally noticed the slotted holes on chute rod mounting plate. Adjusted it so it does not hit grill and repainted that spot.

We replaced the nut clips that were missing and broke on side panel as well today. Might get some snow tomorrow to try it out again!

Have a H16 with a front blade that stays on and the G14 with the thrower. Chain and weighted and haven't started them since I got them ready in November. Have had a total of 1.5" of snow so far this winter. Slight chance of some dusting later this week.

Wow! That Bolens almost looks too nice to use. I really like the underbelly shots you took, especially the front one.

Those units look good together. ;)

Very nice! you sir is what the world is lacking. People tend to just wait till something goes bad, breaks or blows up. Then they scrap it and move onto destroying the next machine. A little preventative maint. and a check over is always good! That machine will last you forever!

More like my dad is that person! We do enjoy taking a neglected machine and bringing it back!
