I picked this up on Wednesday! It's a little rough, needs all 4 tires. But it steers easily and the deck is free. I can just make out the model #'s. Looks like a 915 01. All I can make out on the serial is 062 toward the end of the tag. Cannot make out any of the deck #'s. Here's some pics.

I have had some luck bringing back the numbers on the decals by wetting a finger or thumb with saliva and rubbing fairly firm on the white one pass then across the numbers. The chalking from the white will stay in the numbers enough to read them fairly good. Worth a try.

According to Bolens paperwork:

The 915-01 Lawn keeper was a 1968 model, and was equipped with a Tecumseh V60-70093D engine.

The 915-03 Lawn keeper was a 1969 & 1970 model, and was equipped with a Tecumseh V60-70166G engine.

There was no mention of a 915-02.

I can't swear by the #'s I posted, but thanks for the info. Kind of thought it was a Tecumseh!

The Tecumseh engine numbers should be stamped into the sheet-metal shroud just above the 3 head bolts holding the shroud to the head.

If your engine is original, you may be able to identify the Bolens model by the Tecumseh number.

There is a plate (with #'s) on the side of the engine block. I'll get pics of it today!

Can someone give me the paint colors for this? And are the wheels supposed to be White? I hope to get some tires for it soon and see if I can get it running!

Looks like it has some good potential!
I have come close to buying one of those for my wife, she thinks they are the cutest thing ever. If a nice one comes up again I may have to bite.

What brand of paint are you planning on using? I have the Rustoleum X-O rust code for the yellow as well as the deck but nothing in automotive so far.

Wheels were white on tractor and deck
