A while back i had a sore throat problem and was seeing my doctor about it. We could'nt cure the problem and i srarted swelling on the side of my throat. Doc says we need to do a cat scan so we did and was diagnosed with throat cancer. We have been with my doctor for over 35yrs.and when he said i was going to the University of Iowa Hospitals to the specialists' i didn't question him. Fast forward: After 2 trips to Iowa City for pet scans and other tests the cancer is just located in my throat. Thank the Good Lord. With surgury and radiation they say it is cureable. I will loose mfriends backy voice but to me its a fair trade if they get it out of me. My pre-op is tomarro and surgury is thursday. I have a whealth of family and friend back here and wanted to include my family here on GTtalk. Please keep me in your thoughts while i go through my journey. So i might be out of the loop for a while but i WILL return. Luv ya all. Randy G. :wave:

Best of luck to you Randy! I had some cancer cut out of my neck two years ago and the doctor fixed me right up. I'm sure your specialists will do the same. They see this stuff day in and day out. Its just another day at the office for them. We are all pullin for ya!

Randy, prayers will go out for you my friend! Thank you for allowing us to know about this. You will be uncomfortable a while, but they'll get you fixed up I'm sure. Sounds like it's isolated & totally curable. We'll leave a light on for ya, but you likely won't be gone long from here. After all, you may lose speech for a bit, but those typing fingers will still work just fine! :thumbs:

Thanks for all the responces guys it really helps. Ya know i'v smoked for alot of yrs. and have been welding for over 40yrs in alot of nasty enviorments and to have this only in my throat makes me feel very fortunate.
