Thanks for all the responces guys it really helps. Ya know i'v smoked for alot of yrs. and have been welding for over 40yrs in alot of nasty enviorments and to have this only in my throat makes me feel very fortunate.

You know, when I had my op, I couldn't talk for awhile. I had to write notes to everyone. I quickly found out, by the time I wrote it out, no one cared what I had to say anymore. Did you ever try to argue with someone on paper??? It's pretty exhausting!

Just wanted to give all of my dad's followers a update as to how he's doing. As a testament to how strong my father really is, he under went 15+ hours of surgery yesterday to remove tumors around his throat. Everything went well and the surgery was far longer then we thought it would be but like the Dr's said "the reason it took so long, is because we are being that particular and doing it right". The plan was to keep him asleep and on the vent until today but once again he surprised us all and was off the vent, awake and following direction 1hr post op. Today day 2 he continues to improve yet at times the pain is a lot. Again tho, my father doesn't ask for pain meds and just sucks it up. I thought I was tough being a former Bomb Tech for the United States Army. Serving one year in Iraq looking for bombs I thought I was tough, but I am no where near as tough as him. He has endured a major surgery and all he's really worried about is US his family and of course his garden. :smilewink: He has many long days ahead but as he has proven to us over the last 24 hours, he is up to the challenge. I am hoping to get some time with him later because I know he's wanting to update you all himself. But he's gonna have to get that OK'd by the BOSS my mother before he is allowed online. I know he is thankful for all the support you all have given him and as his Son I can't thank you enough.

Thanks you SO much for giving us this update! We all do our best to support one another in every aspect, not just tractors. If I become a hospital patient, I hope I can be half as tough as your Dad is being! I've made it almost 55 years without an overnight stay, but I may not stay lucky. Your Dad has all our support, thoughts, and prayers.

Thanks for the update on your dad. I'm glad he made it though surgery and is well on the road to recovery. I hope he will continue to do well and is able to return to his family and garden very soon. :thumbs:
