I have a gravely 424 with a Kohler Engine with a blowed head gasket.
I also have a Kohler 12 hp. The ? is will the 12 hp engine bolt up to the 424 .

That depends. Is the 12hp from another 400-series Gravely or walk behind? If not, it likely has the wrong crankshaft PTO extension.

Why not replace the head gasket? Is there something else wrong with the engine?
