From time-to-time I run across lingo, jargon or acronyms that throw me for a loop. I've knocked around these pages enough that I feel I have a good feel for what people mean. HOWEVER I'm still stumped now and again. This got me to thinking, "How about put together a GTTalk "dictionary" or list of words and phrases (and of course their meanings) for our wives to chuckle at, for some of us to learn from and in general for all of us to have fun putting it together.

So, to start us off here's what I'm thinking......

GT=Garden Tractor

"The Blue Wrench"=oxyacetylene cutting torch (right?)

Some of the ones that used to get me are standard text abbreviations, but I think he means hobby related abbreviations we all have started using.

Ha! I guess we'll need to add a column for the definition or for the General Lee accepted use of the abbreviation or phrase. I

'm using voice technology to write this response and I just noticed that when you say generally it's spelled out General Lee. That isn't a new abbreviation. HA!

Just say "et cetera" out loud to yourself to remind yourself of the correct order of the "T" and "C."Also to be avoided is the common mispronunciation "excetera." "And etc." is a redundancy.
