That makes sense now. IIFC, when it referred to snow it was about pushing heavy snow and to push heavy snow one needs to throttle up. Thanks.

Old thread and I don't want to step on any toes here but but "Bring the '"heat wrench" always meant "We need the oxygen/acetylene torches." in Army recovery operation lingo.

"Little Joe" was the 40# 3' long wrench on the older armored vehicles that was used to turn the track adjuster to tighten the track.

I have many more terms used by the military that found their way into the commonly used terms column.
