Please help before my wife calls the scrapper!

I have read the history articles and searched the model posts but still can't seem to lock down the model I have. All identyifing information seems to be obliterated on this tractor. The Husky Man logo was even painted over by a previous owner...I used the tractor for 2-seasons and when the valves started hanging I laid it up in order to restore it. An accidental scratch on the front grill in the garage revealed the hidden logo!

It has a 10hp Briggs and Stratton and even the serial number was painted over! From what I can chip away and read through the surface rust it appears to be #243131-0633-01-720410. That didn't conform to the Briggs codes exactly but my best guess is that it is a '72.

The tractor has a front engine tool shaft protruding and a tilt up rear tool attachment. I have included images and any help would be appreciated. I'd really love to restore this beauty or know enough about it to ensure that I can find it a good home...

This is an excellent resource & forum. Thanks in advance for your help.

That may explain all the paint over identity marks! I will look into that and see... It is a great looking machine. I'd love to get it going again!

Thanks for the quick response and expert eye.

That chasis and mower deck are AC/Simplicity. The engine probably has a mouse nest in it. The engine is probably a 241341, Its a 10 hp B&S. The valves can be freed by pulling the spark plug, turning the engine so that the piston is at top of the cylinder, spraying WD 40 into the valves, and using a bent wire to push the valve down. You may have to repeat this a few times. Download the AC B-10 manual and the B&S manual from our Manuals Section. Do all of the maintenance and get it started. You can help get the engine in better shape by using Marvel Mystery Oil in your gas. Ask questions when you want help. Good Luck, Rick

Downloading manuals now. Should I "un-Frankenstein" it? Are OEM parts reasonably available??

Like stated the tractor is a Allis. Hood and grill are off a bolens small frame like a 770 or 775. The dash also could be bolens as well but cant tell 100% by the photo.
