I installed my snowplow yesterday, and the tractor lifts the plow up all the way, but down pressure is very weak. It will push down lightly, then give up. My other large frames will raise the front end off the ground. Only thing I done so far was check the fluid level and I did top it off. Ive looked at the service manual and I think I should look at the relief valve but Im not sure what Im looking for and what to do with it.

Any help is greatly appricated.

I'm not a Bolens guy but I just thought that there could be an obstruction to the linkage that is limiting it's travel. Other than that, the relief valve or the overall health of the pump are 2 things that come to mind. Good luck getting it sorted out.

More than likely it is weak going up too. Takes very little pressure to raise the blade compared to raising the tractor. I'd go ahead & check that relief valve per a manual that covers that. I'm not up to speed with Bolens, but on most other GT's, there is a pressure regulating valve, and then in the hydraulic valve or before it, there is also a bypass relief valve.
