IMG_0454.JPGGood morning all. Still snowing early this am. but clear now, have a good 12" on the level, but the temp. is up to a balmy +2C. "They" say it'll be gone in about a week, but I have my doubts, looks like an early winter. The leaves all blew out of the trees yesterday/last night and things look bleak.

Kinda gives the phrase "plow day" a whole new meaning

Good morning all, only -35C. and beautifully sunny today. I'll be able to get back to shovelling out my paths in the sheep yard today.

-35 C may be a dry cold but it still makes me shiver

The little red dot at the bottom of the thermometer may quiver

And perhaps in the sun it may even expand

As the bright rays of sunshine try and warm up the land

At least you can see your paths today

Yesterday it was sideways snow we saw all yesterday

Not much stayed on the ground as the wind did blow

Howling its way across the landscape making the white stuff go

It flew and it swirled all over the place

Looked like a dance as the snow flakes did race

In search of new landscapes to explore in the cold

Another day in Bruce County - winters getting old

Looking forward to the road closed signs coming down

And perhaps venturing out and going to town

Springs on the way so the calendar does boast

I think a Wiarton rodent is going to be toast

That called for an early spring back on a February day

He'd better hide in his hole and out of sight stay

Well, we've gotten near a half inch of much needed moisture! :dancingbanana:

The wind was out of the north yesterday and today so maybe that is where all our white stuff went :watch_over_fence:

7 degrees F but this morning the wind has dropped

I am thinking that perhaps today the snow has stopped

It snowed yesterday but it pretty much all blew away

It was that type of a winter Bruce County day

One minute the sun looked to be there

And then five minutes later snow filled the air

Then it would clear off for a little while

Then with the wind start all over - that was the style

Daylight saving time started and we are now on

So it was an hour later as we watched the dawn

I think it is time for mother nature to switch the station

And let us enjoy the warming of spring across the nation

Greetings all. Haven't had frost for a week! I probably shouldn't have said that, Murphy's Law being what it is, but I'm feeling a little chirpy today so what the heck, bring it on!

We had frost last night - still cool and a brisk wind - but at least the sun has shone yesterday and today so the land and air is slowly drying out.

Daylight saving time is over for another year
Time to bring out the rum and put away the beer
The hot days of summer are becoming cool days of fall
They'll have to change the light timers at the mall
The clocks have all been set back one hour once more
I wonder what this winter will have for us in store?
Perhaps lots of white stuff blowing wildly around
Or maybe no snow for Christmas will be found
Back to standard time and shorter daylight hours
Gone to sleep again are the plants and flowers
Halloweens over and soon Christmas bells will ring
But the good news is only twenty more weeks until spring

28 Degrees F is the forecasted high today

And snow each day for the next several they say

Sunny days are gone and will probably be rare

As out into the gloomy white we will get to stare

For the next several weeks as winter settles in

Time to ward off cabin fever with the help of rum and gin

The wind has finally dropped for a few minutes or maybe more

Oh well I won't get bored shoveling the steps leading up to the door

They say an Alberta Clipper went through

Not sure what caused this or who we can sue

Perhaps someone will pay out big bucks

For the winds and the snow which grounded the ducks

The snow has slowed from what we got the last few days

And the wind has dropped but it is cold as mother nature plays

14 degrees Fahrenheit outside - isn't it great

Dreaming of spring in 14 weeks - can hardly wait

Another Alberta Clipper is sailing through

I guess it gives the Meteorologists something to do

Making weather warnings and statements to let us know

It will be another cloudy day with some more snow

Not sure who in Alberta thinks we need so many
I would be just as glad if they didn't send any

24 degrees F for a forecasted high and no sun yet again today

Looks like I may get some more seat time and with the white stuff play

Think I will see if I can sell some of this cold solid rain online

Maybe offer it as a new kind of *********** that will help clear up your wrinkle line

Good morning all. It's -6C and snowing lightly. After the thawing we've had the roads will be slippery for sure.... glad I put new boots on the Chevy a few weeks ago.

New galoshes for the Chevy - what a treat

Did you give it a new matching cover for the seat?

Nice to see you are getting snow too

Hope it doesn't get too deep for you

Morning All! We could use some moisture, but I would prefer liquid right now.

It's 38° (3C) on the porch. Warmer today with 62° (17C) and glorious sunshine.

Snow and cloud again for today - 24 degrees F is the forecasted high

Got some seat time first thing this morning and made the snow fly

I could put some solid white moisture in a bag and mail it your way

It would probably melt at some point and you could have some liquid with which to play

Of course the post office might not like the possible mess

As it could escape and cause them some unnecessary stress

A bag dripping a clear liquid might cause them to think

That it could be dangerous and not simply water you drink

Can't wait for when we get to see some sun in the sky

Just hope I recognize it when it happens or I might cry

A chilly good morning all. It was -32C on my thermometer this morning. As we Canadians say, "a bit crispy, eh?"

But it is a "dry" cold - right? :rolling:

When the snow crunches under your boots and you sit on a vehicle seat and the seat doesn't give any under your weight you know it is a tad crispy.

I think it is time to make a mound

N othing like a snowman on the lawn

T o remind you that someday it will be gone

E very day that passes is one closer to spring

10 degrees F and snow squalls continue as the winds blow in off the lake. Basically a repeat of yesterday only a little colder - not much accumulation as the wind carries the snow inland.

Went out this morning to give the birds a treat

The snow crunched a bit under my feet

Something was chattering inside my head

Realized it was my teeth - enough said

I seem to feel the chill more as I get older

The snow has fallen off and on all day

The wind has dropped which is ok

The Provinces are caught in a chill says the news

As people are shivering from winters icy blues

Dreaming of a January thaw and temperatures like spring

Think I heard the brass monkeys round things fall as I heard a ding

This morning 4 degrees F and in the driveway 8" of snow

After a few hours this morning got it moved though

Not much wind and some sunshine today

Hope this is the new trend at least till Monday

No warm up in sight and more snow forecast

December 2017 is slipping away fairly fast

Not really enough to get excited about or blow

Swept off the car and the sun came out

It won't last long of that I have no doubt

More snow in the forecast - isn't it fun

Hope we only get a little and not a ton

Not much wind so that is good

Good afternoon everyone. It's clear and sunny, -37C when I got up at 6:30a.m., and has hit a high of -32C. When I started the truck at noon the readout on the dash said,"caution, ice possible" REALLY??!?, YA THINK MAYBE??

Don't you love it when your truck can tell you things that common sense already tells you - did it happen to offer the six and seven winning digits for tonight's and tomorrow nights lotteries or was it too busy shivering?

Woke up this morning to 6" of new snow

At dawns first light I started the tractor to blow

For the next hour could hardly see

As more white crap kept falling all around me

Finally let up after 2" more added to the collection

The temperature is 14 degrees F which I will mention

Not a lot of wind but cool it seems

When will I awake from these winter dreams?

4 degrees F this morning and the wind has a chill

Going to reflect a bit on the next heating bill

Another 1" of snow plus the wind picked up and moved what we had

Filled in most of the laneway which made me a little sad

Oh well more seat time and after two hours of blowing the snow

The laneway is now open so If I get the urge I can go

Happy New year to all - hopes it is the best one yet

Realize the dreams you can grasp without going into deep debt

14 degrees F and 3" more of fresh snow

I need to find that tap and turn off the flow

The wind is now blowing out of the west

So far this year I think I have passed the test

But if it stays this cold much longer I say with a grin

I may have to grow some hair on my cold little chin
