I came across a Massey 218 GTX last night on Kijiji and couldn't resist. It has a power steering, 3 ph, 48'' deck and snowblower with the grass blower kit all original from Massey. I don't know much about these except they were made by Ingersoll. Does anybody know the equivalent Ingersoll model. I couldn't find any manuals on GTT. If any of you could point me in the right directions for the owner's and service manuals I would appreciate it. Also, any experience you guys could share about these like things to watch for.

I'm sure it will make a nice addition to my MF16 and 1650.

I don't have any picture because I came back too late with it last night!

Thanks

3018ps...the main difference is the Ingersoll's are Onan or Briggs powered where the Masseys are Kohler powered IIRC. Nice find. Would love to see some pics.

I'm not 100% sure that there was a power steering on the short wheel Ingersoll's though. I know there was on the tall wheel ie: 4018ps

Here's the first pictures of the tractor out of my trailer. It will require some work and tlc. I will need to figure out the rear bagger and vacuum before I can use it. It is presently mounted loosely on top of the 3 ph but I'm sure that's not where it really belongs.

That's the hydra bagger. Should be a Pto lever back there or maybe even between your legs by the hi/lo lever. Not sure on those models. It simply operates similar to the drove system with hydraulic fluid spinning the motor. Looks like you got a nice setup there. Especially with the Massey branded attachments which seem as uncommon as the tractors themselves.

Here's a screenshot of your pic zoomed which looks like the lever you need to turn the rear pto on.

Thanks for the info. The level is indeed on the back on the left fender. I think it was meant to be mounted where the 3 point hitch is attached. It seams I will have to remove the 3ph to mount it securely. I found an operator's manual and will look what it says.

Started the tractor tonight. It is leaking oil from the back of the motor. Looks like the rear crankshaft seal needs to be replaced. Did someone removed the motor on one of these? The oil pump is attached to the back of the motor and I don't see an easy way to uncouple them. I don't think they designed it with service in mind!
