Chris,

When Deere was looking to develop a tiller for the early round fenders, they utilized the engineering and manufacturing abilities of Haban. Although these two companies sat down and came to a design, Haban pretty much built the entire unit, but adapted it for Deere to use with it's current line of tractors. I don't think, but could be wrong, Deere ever manufactured these units in their factory. I'm almost certain that Haban produced the units and shipped them to Deere for their blessings, and Deere then painted them and applied the serial number tags.

All of you guys would be correct, Haban has utilized the design for many different brands of manufacturers, however each independent manufacturer used their brand specific paint. Deere seems to be the only manufacturer however, that used their own serial numbering of the equipment, as the other manufacturers used Haban's personal serial numbering. About the only things that Haban made for themselves, decaled and painted themselves, but still used individually manufactured mounted systems, were the flail mowers and sickle bar mowers. Haban manufactured all sorts of attachments, which included snow blades, rototillers, and snowthrowers, all of which can still be found as many of you guys have pointed out. And other than Deere specific attachments, you will more than likely find a serial number tag stating that it's manufactured by Haban.
