I finally got some decent weather with humidity under 80% so tossed some green on the Gardener and plow. Wasn't to hard to do since it had been cleaned up once already. Just a pressure washing did a good job. With an overnight dry the X-O-Rust primer went on one morning. About 3 that afternoon the hunter green went on. Not the right green but close enough for a working tractor. Grdnr & Plow.JPG

That reminds me of what a guy I know said to me at a show once. We have a lot of Russians in the area. For the record, they are great folks to be around, can't ask for better folks to do business with. I wandered through the displays and I caught up with this older guy. He was a little slow but he knew his engines. While I was looking over his old original Briggs ZZ engine I was commenting on the paint condition. Right at the end, after a little pause, I said "I like Patina". He looked at me kinda funny and said "Since when are you dating a Russian girl?"

Your right, they do have some weight to them. Mine has both wheels chuck full of RV antifreeze. Very little slippage with it. Plow will not be put back on again. I have a Brinly plow I use on a 1053 that has Ag tires loaded also. Works a lot better but I did plow the whole garden with the Gardener this past spring. Did a real good job once I got it adjusted right. It's next job is getting the sweet potatoes out with the middle buster.

I found out quick that the best way to learn to run one is in a big open area. I started with the plow on in the neighbors bean stubble. Couldn't hurt much but myself. Getting the two clutches adjusted so the engage at the same time is a little tricky too.

I drove it down to the machine shed after the paint set up decent with no attachments. Got it inside and pulled both clutch levers. Rested the front on a disc I had sitting there and turned the gas off to let the carb run dry. Stepped out to pick up the middle buster to mount and that darn machine tried to mount that disc. It was low in front enough and the vibration engaged both clutches and it started to dig. Got it stopped before any damage but it was humping away trying its best to climb on top of that disc. Have two burned rubber spots on the hard dry dirt floor. Lesson learned.

So I'm not the only one who has weird fubars like this, lol.

If you trip and fall, it will drag you until it runs out of gas.
It is amazing what those things will pull with that little motor.

Looks good and much better than letting it get rusty.
