Sunday, I picked up a T45D-4 that may be in the best original condition of any tractor that was made in 1935. This was bought in September 1935 at the Eastern States Exposition in Springfield Massachusetts. The Eastern States is the largest agricultural fair in New England. Shaw Manufacturing displayed their products there for many years.

It is so nice to see a machine that has been well maintained and well taken care of. Sometime in 1938, the owner bought a power turn conversion kit from Shaw, and converted the tractor from ratchet turn to power turn. Power turn came out in 1936 with the D4T model. Sometime in 1938, Shaw red paint was changed to green paint. The parts in the power turn kit are all green.

The Firestone tires are original, and the original Kingston carburetor was saved after replacement with the Briggs carburetor. The tractor started on the second rope pull and drove right up on my trailer. A good day.
