New to the forum, have done some browsing and searching and know there are some 1010 owners here. Recently added a 1010 to the stable and it runs great but a little concerned about the amout of smoke coming out of the crankcase breather tube, seems a bit much but would be interested if others could tell me if this is normal.
Great forum and looking foreword to participating.

A diesel will puff smoke out that tube all the time. To see if abnormal would require a video clip. Usually though, if the engine is in good shape, they will puff more at idle than at higher rpm's. Does yours seem to puff less at higher rpm's than at idle speed?
I'm one of the current 1010 owners. While I love mine, I don't use it as much as I intended, as just after buying it to mow the larger farmyard areas, I stumbled on a John Deere F935 w/diesel & 72" cut. So the 1010 sits a lot. I did run 4,000bu of corn into the bin with the auger this Fall with it.

Thanks olcowhand...yup more smoke at idle and just occasiomally a whif at higher rpms, smells like burning oil though...not used to it I guess, my 135 and my kioti never smell like oil.
Bought this little guy to cut my 2+acres of grass, 60 inch belly mower, as the twin cylinder craftsman 48" sucks about 10 bucks every mow. Everything is tight and not a drop of oil anywhere but before I start on the cosmetics got to know if I'm into major engine work. I'll try to upload a video soon as I figure out the process at GT talk. Saw your auger clip earlier today, stout little devils for their size. Many thanks.

olecowhand, and anyone else who would like to comment, the first clip is at cold start and the second is after warm up, much less smoke when warm.

Welcome to GTTalk. Thats a nice solid unmolested 1010. Compared to most I've seen it's in good shape. When it comes to those tractors Olcowhand is the man.
That's a really nice Kioti tractor you have there.

I think you are fine. Unless more puffing starts, and especially if accompanied by any changes in power or sounds, then I'd not worry at all. The cold puffing in that video is nothing at all to be concerned with.
Yes, your 1010 is in great shape. My 1010 has faded paint, but hope some day to get the time to repaint it. How many hours is on your 1010? I think mine has around 950 or so if I remember right.

Nice to meet you Brian, after many many years of plowing and blowing snow with the old 2085 ferguson and then the MF135, it's heaven having the Kioti with a comfortable heated cab for the last 2 years. Jim

That's good to hear, was thinking rings and valves and really didn't want to tear it down when there isn't an oil leak anywhere, not to mention where the heck to find engine parts and gaskets so I'll breath a bit easier now and concentrate on tidying it up over the winter, needs paint, tires and a couple other odds and ends. Lots of inspiration to get her back to her former glory after seeing the all those perfect resto MF's guys on the site are doing.
I'll post pics along the way when I get to it....OH, 1403 hrs......Thanks for your assistance.

Nice to meet you as well Jim. We look forward to pictures and posts on the refit/ restoration of your 1010. Any snow yet in your neck of the woods? We just had our first snow in the Halifax area on Wednesday - 34cm.

Amigatec...olcowhand is right, Toyosha CS86 (Hinomoto) and a bear to get parts for apparently, filters still readily available.
Had a dusting of snow a couple weeks ago Brian, all gone now and the weather has been beautiful...14 C today and sunny, great for outside work...rotten for deer hunting...
Won't be gettin at the 1010 for a while, wifey keeps expanding the major reno projects, all summer building a two story georgian style porch and now a bathroom gut and re-do is apparently next......on a HAPPIER NOTE got another project this afternoon, dad ...he is 88 now...told me to drag his old fergy out of the field and restore it, " it's yours now ". Learned how to drive on that tractor so glad it is with me, that will wait for a while too but I will restore it for sure.

Hi everyone, I need a good help. My MF 1010 was working well until the idle, when it's cold, is working very akwardly.

The idle is not stable and going fast and suddenly ssllooww anddd fast and sloww. After 20min, is starting to be normal, because the motor is warming up. When I start to use it, to move it, it doesn't have any engine force...

I reckon it's a problem coming from the gasoil system, but franckly I don't know...

Can someone help me to explain that ? And what should I do to repair this ?

I can do a video if it's help understand. Let me know.
